She hath wings

Just over three years ago was the last time

We saw them on the screen-

A few hours later, they gathered for lunch*;

Now an eerie scene;

One coloured plate and the others differed-

A plot right out of hell-

Three innocents lived only for days

And another, their story to tell.

What motivated a hideous crime

That the world would soon discuss?

These were quiet, unassuming people

Who didn’t like a fuss.

The joy of having a newborn helped

Keep us going when the days were tough-

We begged for God to heal them but

Their bodies had been through enough.

Trauma unfolded as we began to process

Loss and unnecessary pain-

Yet with God’s help and a

Village of loved ones,

We began to function again.

This crime was intended to hurt our family,

But God’s power has made us stay strong-

Not even the worst kind of news could shatter

The hope we had all along.
