For much of my adult life I have struggled with my weight, and especially since I hit the 40-somethings. I tried a number of diets and stuck at them for maybe a few days or a week but I felt hungry and miserable. Family would comment that it wasn’t sustainable and I would spiral into further struggles, believing I couldn’t change and stacking on more weight with emotional eating.
Less than a month ago I contacted an online PT who had achieved some fantastic results with clients who, like me, find that injury or busy lifestyle, young kids or obesity make it difficult to exercise enough and to lose substantial amounts of weight.
After 2 weeks of winding back my calories toward the goal, I’m pleased to say I have finally got there. Drinking much more water was one part of the equation. The real game changer though, was lean protein. Incredible! I have never used protein powder before but I am sprinkling a scoop on my breakfast. I’m also making sure that I have the goal amount of protein per day from food, spread across the meals and especially at breakfast- starting the day with good energy.
I’m working on mindset, increasing steps, doing mini home workouts with minimal equipment but the powerful tool I now must have enough of in my menu is protein.
Doing things alone never worked for me. I am excited to be part of a group of women who are making better health choices, celebrating the wins and learning a new way for life. Watch this space for more posts on Mez 2.0!
